Topic: Book of Mark Passage: Mark 15:22–15:39
During my college years, I would visit my aunt and uncle’s church every Easter season because they did a live re-enactment of Jesus’ final hours. I would watch the young man portraying Jesus hang precariously on the cross, sometimes in chilly weather, other times in rain, and marvel at his ability to hang there for 2 or more hours. This scene only heightened my amazement, my sorrow, and ultimately, my gratitude for the sacrifice Jesus made to pay the debt of my sin. He died so we may live!
