Worship Minister

 

Principal Function

The Worship Minister is to:
• Develop and maintain a corporate worship strategy that praises God and provides an integrated approach and execution across all church services offered by FBC Friendswood
• Provide a sense of togetherness and inclusion across the planning and execution of all worship environments acknowledging the multi-generational demographic of the church body
• Oversee all aspects of the worship planning process for regularly scheduled services or special events including: coordination of worship team performers, the choir, worship band/orchestra, audio/visual/lighting support, and any other special facility setup requirements
• Recruit, develop, and oversee the various groups required to participate in the designed worship service including but not limited to: a choir, ensembles or soloists, worship band, and orchestra members
• Provide oversight for all audio, visual, and lighting requirements leading to an effective worship experience identifying gaps and needs for equipment and personnel resources to carry out the duties


Regular Duties

• Plan and lead the weekly worship service schedule and rehearsals for each service
• Work alongside and coordinate with the senior pastor regarding his identified themes for any regular services, special events, and programs for appropriate music and worship elements
• Oversee song and choral selection, media preparation and presentation, sound and lighting enhancements, and coordination of all instrumentalists, vocalists, and dramatists
• Coordinate with the church Administrator for any facility related requirements or issues as part of all regularly scheduled activities or special worship events
• Provide pastoral care to the church membership as called upon such as but not limited to hospital visitations, weddings, and funerals
• Supervise and provide direction to worship ministry staff
• Work with Senior Pastor and the Church Administrator to prepare and implement the annual worship ministry budget
• Participate in the weekly ministerial staff meeting
• Represent always, in speech, action and attitude, a positive image of Jesus and First Baptist Church
• Other duties as assigned by the Senior Pastor
